With the castle run to rack and ruin, it fell to Lord Slogar to reinterpret ‘modern conveniences’. He looked at books by the window and observed the racoons in the attic as a substitute to television. He kept thirst at bay with flat cans of Lilt and ancient Capri-Sun, until one day there was no more…
Compelled to action, he remembered a small broken well at the edge of the estate and set off for it. It appeared like a mirage, and in his excitement he failed to notice the extent of disrepair the well had fallen into. What he didn’t fail to notice was the extent to which he fell into the well, doomed to be devoured by weasels at its dry and dusty bottom.
